Oh, hello!

Once we were rivals on the tennis court, today two friends and wine enthusiasts - for years we have formed the perfect match.

Unusual encounters that, as so often in life, happen by chance and unplanned, write the most beautiful stories in the end. This is also how our story begins. While looking for a tennis club our paths crossed. After the first training sessions and hard tennis matches in which we liked to challenge each other, the contact became more and more intensive. So we met more and more not only on the tennis court, but also for concerts, winetastings, travels, culinary discoveries and intensive conversations.

On a warm summer evening at Lake Zurich and of course over a glass of wine, Roland developed the desire to join his father Paul's winery with his own line. This is located in the Mór region and has been steadily expanded in recent years. As a career changer, Paul has produced excellent wines that now enjoy great popularity throughout Hungary and are awarded prizes every year. Before the union of the USSR, Mór was a well-known wine region and produced noble wines. During the time of the USSR, production was no longer based on quality, but on quantity, which lowered the class of the wines. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the know-how and the financial means to reverse this process were mostly lacking. Paul, who emigrated to Switzerland as a young man, did not forget his roots and took up this challenge with success. Thus, many are happy that he has rebuilt the heritage estate, where his grandfather had already worked, into an international and high quality winery and brought it back to life.

We were so impressed by this development that we put into practice the desire of our own drop. This is how MATCHWINE - Match your wine with your life - was born from 3 countries, 2 friends and 1 great passion. Our goal is to meet and unite the tastes of the countries Switzerland, Germany and Hungary. In the wide variety of selections you can find the perfect match for every taste and occasion.

In doing so, Matchwine exemplifies what we stand for as friends: The combination of individual characteristics in a unified community.
But aren't self-fulfillment and a sense of togetherness not contradictory? We are certain that the right social environment contributes to self-actualization. If needs and desires can be fulfilled, then that is our definition of "happiness".
